BLOG: Bombers Teammates Earn All-Conference Postseason HonorsBryan/College Station, TX – May 21, 2019 – A pair of Bombers teammates were recognized for their on-field season performances Monday as the nation's athletic conferences release their all-conference postseason awards.
Texas A&M's freshman phenom Joseph Menefee was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week for his incredible performance against the Arkansas Razorbacks this past weekend. Menefee hurled a combined seven strikeouts and gave up no walks in a pair of contests against the SEC opponents on Friday and Saturday. The left-handed reliever allowed a single hit and walked no batters.
Just a few hours later, the SEC further acknowledged the rookie's success by naming him to the SEC All-Freshman Team, making him the only Aggie to earn postseason honors. Menefee struck out 46 batters and allowed only a single home run in relief for A&M this season.
Menefee joins a Brazos Valley Bomber teammate in all-conference postseason recognition. Sean Arnold, the junior second baseman for University of the Incarnate Word, was named to the 2019 All-Southland Conference First Team on Monday. Arnold was one of the Cardinals' best hitters this season, placing second on the team in on-base percentage with .430 and third in hits with 65.
Arnold is a Bryan, TX native. |
