Here is the release from tonight’s game.
Braden Mattson Propels Bombers To Victory Over The Strykers
The Bombers returned home tonight for the first of two with The Woodlands Strykers. I game was moved back an hour because of transportation issues with the Strykers, but it was all Bombers as the Bombers won 8-2 in a rain shortened game from American Momentum Bank Ballpark.
The first run for the Bombers came in the second inning. Left fielder Brandon Wood was hit by a pitch, and came around to score on a double by catcher Braden Mattson. The Bombers would put four runs on the board in the fourth inning. Right fielder Myles Parma led the inning off with a single. He would score on a triple by third baseman Brennyn Smith. Wood was once again hit by a pitch in the inning to put two runners on base. With both runners on, Mattson would step to the plate and drill a pitch over the outfield fence for a three run home run that made the score 5-2. Mattson would hit another three run homerun in the sixth inning with both Smith and Wood on again that would make the score 8-2 which would go on and be the final score. On the evening, Mattson had seven RBIs. For his performance Mattson was named the H&R Block Never Settle For Less Player of the Game!
The Bombers pitching staff was anchored by Luis Dejesus and Franco Pace. Dejesus started on the mound and pitched 6.2 quality innings allowing the two Stryker runs on two hits while fanning seven batters. Pace came in and pitched the final 1.1 innings recording three strikeouts.
The Bombers defense once again stood behind their pitchers tonight by making great timely plays that helped Dejesus and Pace stay in control of the game.
The Bombers will play the Strykers again at 7:05 from American Momentum Bank Ballpark. It will be a Monday Feast brought to you by FedStar Credit Union with 50 cent Hot Dogs, Peanuts, and Popcorn! The game will also be Kids Run The Ballpark Night so be sure to come out and see kids from the community run the ballpark!
