Bombers Head Home For Two Games
The Bombers finished their roadtrip tonight against the Texas Marshalls. The game featured an approximately 50 minute weather delay. The Bombers fell behind early, but put some runs together to cut the lead to 5-4 Marshals, but the Marshals were able to score two more runs in the eight inning to extend the lead to 7-4. The Bombers could not get any runs in the ninth inning as they fell 7-4 from Jesuit High School. The Bombers will now head home for a two game series with The Woodlands Strykers.
The Bombers were finally able to get on the board in the sixth inning. James Wharton led the inning off with a walk. Wharton would come home on a RBI double by left fielder Brandon Wood. Wood would score the second run on a groundout by shortstop Corey Toups in which Wood was running past third on the play and was able to slide under the Marshals catcher to score the run. The third run of the night was scored by catcher Kevin Lamb. Lamb had a double to left center in the inning and was able to slide into to third on an error. Right fielder Myles Parma would hit a ground out that would score Lamb. The Bombers would add another run in the eighth inning. Brennyn Smith led the inning off with a single to leftfield and came home to score on a groundout by pinch hitter Bobby Butvin.
Nick Goza who recently joined the Bombers started on the mound. Goza, a Tulsa Oklahoma native, who will be heading to the University of Central Arkansas this fall pitched the first three innings of the game. Montgomery native, Logan Burch came into to pitch in the fourth and went on to pitch 4.1 innings against the Marshals while recording four strikeouts. Andrew Hohn came in to pitch the final two thirds of the inning.
Logan Burch made a nice play on a come backer in the fifth inning. Burch was able to get the ball over to James Wharton at first to end the inning.
The Bombers now return to American Momentum Bank Ballpark tomorrow against The Woodlands Strykers. The game is a Sundae Sunday with $1 Sundaes and Baseball Bingo brought to you by Brazos Bingo! The game will also be Cow Appreciation Day at the ballpark!
