Bombers Load Up the Outfield with Four New Players
Scott, Wagner, Montanez, and Bittle bring athleticism and depth to a Bombers roster
Bryan-College Station, TX (May 30, 2026) – Together, Matt Scott II, Tanner Wagner, Damian Montanez, and Tristian Bittle, give the Bombers one of the most athletic and well-rounded outfields in the TCL this summer.
Matt Scott II adds experience and a proven collegiate resume to a Bombers outfield. The junior from Spring, Texas, spent this past season at Northwest Florida State College and now heads to McNeese State for the upcoming school year, where he will look to make an immediate impact for the Cowboys. The Bombers are glad to have him in the fold during what could be a breakout stretch of baseball this summer. A General Studies major, Scott brings the poise and competitive experience that the Bombers look for in every player they bring into the program.
Tanner Wagner is the kind of player who makes a coaching staff’s job easier. The freshman from Hallettsville, Texas, turned in one of the most impressive offensive seasons this past year, slashing .385/.494/.600 across 46 games with 4 home runs, 39 RBI, and 31 runs scored. His .494 on-base percentage is particularly eye-catching as it reflects a hitter who forces pitchers to work carefully in every at-bat. Taking his talents to UT Arlington, Wagner will be joining the Mavericks for his sophomore year. A Business major, he profiles as one of the most exciting newcomers to the Bombers offseason.
Damian Montanez is a player whose best baseball is very much ahead of him. The sophomore from Killeen, Texas, spent his freshman year at UTSA and returns to the Roadrunners this coming fall with something to prove. Still early in his collegiate career, Montanez has the athleticism and raw tools that project well at the next level. Off the field, his pursuit of a degree in Kinesiology speaks to a deeper understanding of the body and performance that should only accelerate his growth as a player. The Bombers are excited to see what he is capable of when given the opportunity to compete against some of the best college players in the country night in and night out.
Tristian Bittle comes to the Bombers after a promising season at Northwest Florida State College. The Arlington, Texas, native appeared in 30 games this past season and showed flashes of real pop at the plate, slugging .445 with 9 RBI and 16 runs scored. Bittle has demonstrated the ability to drive the ball with authority, and a full summer of wood bat competition in the TCL should help him continue to develop heading into his next collegiate stop. A Computer Sciences major, Bittle brings a sharp, analytical mind to the clubhouse that complements his tools on the field.
