Bombers Break Winning Streak at 7 with Tough Loss to the Aces

A nice evening in Alexandria was not kind to the Bombers. The team played hard but a couple of home runs by the Aces put the Bombers in a hole that they could not get out of, losing the game by a score of 4-2. The Bombers had a tough time offensively. Center fielder Chris Florack led the game off with a single to right field. The next hit for the Bombers would not come until the seventh inning when designated hitter Braden Mattson hit a double. The first run of the evening came in the same inning when Mattson was able to score on an Aces error. After catcher, Kevin Lamb, making his debut, hit a single, short stop Nick Smelser was thrown out at home trying to score. The Bombers offense did show life in the eighth inning. Florack once again hit a single this time to center field. Right fielder, Myles Parma, then hit a single of his own to right field. Montgomery native, Brennyn Smith then loaded the bases with a single to left field. First baseman, Bobby Butvin, came up to hit into a fielders choice which resulted in Floarack being out at home stalling the inning. In the top of the ninth inning, left fielder Quinton Urban hit a homerun to left center field for what proved to be the final run for the Bombers. The Bombers pitching staff featured starter and College Station native, Brannon Easterling. Easterling gave up a couple of Aces long balls, but was in command for most of the game striking out six Aces. Lefty Andrew Hohn came in to pitch the final two innings of the game. The Bombers will now head to the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex for a two game set with the McKinney Marshalls. The two games tomorrow and Wednesday both start at 7:05. The Bombers will return to friendly American Momentum Bank Ballpark on Thursday for a two game set with the Marshalls. First pitch is set for 7:05. The Thursday game is a Thirsty Thursday presented by Western Beverages which features $1 beer and soda. Fans are also encouraged to come out for FLAG DAY for the unveiling of the new Bombers flag.
