Bryan-College Station (July 26, 2016)- The Bombers returned home and kept their winning ways going as they added on to their historic win streak with a 6-3 victory over the Woodlands.
Bombers hosted their 2nd Annual Grandma Beauty Pageant thanks to Waldenbrooke Estates and BetaMed along with their Bellies in the Ballpark night. Trophy Tuesday sponsored by Avant Garde – College Prep Services was a success with the celebration of three businesses accomplishments.
Michigan State’s Zack McGuire got the Bombers going in the bottom of the third as he hit a 2-run double that scored Garrett McCain and Anthony Herrera. McGuire had two hits total on the night. Hunter Wilson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Tim Lichty.
The Bombers added insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth as Mark Whitehead hit an RBI double scoring Spencer Hemphill and Herrera scored Whitehead on a single. Whitehead was 2-for-4 on the night and scored a run.
Starter Brent Seeburger pitched five scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing just a hit to pick up his fourth win of the year. Tyler Adams relived Miguel Ausua in the bottom of the eighth with the bases loaded and stopped the Strykers rally after they had scored two runs. Adams pitched a scoreless ninth to record his second save of the year.
Tomorrow is 50 cent Wings Wednesday presented by Smitty K’s Sports Bar and Grill, as the Bombers close out the series with the Strykers at 7:05 pm. Brazos Valley will host Faith and Family Night and Mascot Olympics sponsored by Sit Means Sit College Station. The Bombers are also supporting the Brazos Valley Food Bank by asking for 4 food donations and in return one free admission to tomorrow’s game.
