Bombers Win Big on Military Appreciation Day

Bryan- College Station, TX (July 4, 2016) – The Brazos Valley Bombers exploded for 10 runs providing plenty of fireworks in a 10-2 win over the Victoria Generals in front of a raucous Independence Day crowd.

In his season debut with the Bombers, Garrett McCain, our Players of the Game, got the scoring going in the bottom of the second with a 3-run double that scored Ben Hollis, Hunter Wilson and Baine Schoenvogel. Ivan Estrella and Anthony Herrera added RBI doubles in the 3rd and 4th innings before Brazos Valley would put up another big inning, scoring four in the bottom of the sixth. Logan Bottrell drove the first run in the 6th with an RBI double and Alex Samples would hit another Bombers double, scoring two. Herrera would finish with an RBI single in a 3-for-4 day at the plate.

Brett Seeburger got his third win of the year, pitching six innings while allowing one run and seven strikeouts.

The Bombers were honored to share the day with five brave men and one brave woman who swore into the United States Marine Corps at Nutrabolt Stadium. Thank you to those who have served and continue to serve for the freedom of this country and we pray for those who have lost their lives doing so.
