Bryan- College Station, TX (July 5, 2016) – Hunter Wilson went 4-for-4 at the plate and Garrett Hofstad pitched six quality innings as the Bombers defeated the Victoria Generals 7-1.
Bombers fans enjoyed Trophy Tuesday, sponsored by Avant Garde-College Prep Services while they were treated to $2 Brewsday courtesy of Lightning Clean Pressure Washing.
Wilson, the Eastern Oklahoma State product, belted out four singles and drove in a run as he paced the Bombers offense producing 14 hits. He also stole his ninth base of the year. Alex Samples drove in his 20th RBI of the year as he went 3-for-4 at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing his 14th base of the season. Samples’ owns the team lead in both RBIs and stolen bases.
Logan Bottrell, John Grimsley, Spencer Hemphill and Hunter Uzzle all stole bases to give the Bombers six for the game.
Hofstad picked up his third win of the year by going six innings of one run ball, striking out five while allowing just four hits. Brandon Barbery and Brady Tedesco pitched the final three innings of the game without giving up a hit and striking out three.
The Bombers head out on the road tomorrow, as they take on the Victoria Generals for a two games series. Senior Sunday, sponsored by Ashley Homestore College Station, on July 10th will be the next home game for the Bombers as they host the Acadiana Cane Cutters. Petal Patch Florist will also be hosting a Mom and Son Night at Nutrabolt Stadium featuring an Exotic Petting Zoo.
