Bombers Edge Marshals 6-4 on the Road

Plano, Texas (July 18, 2017)-The Brazos Valley Bombers defense showed up big tonight against the Marshals with their 5th straight game without an error and it helps propel them to a tight 6-4 win.

The Bombers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning before surrendering a pair of runs to the Marshals in the home-half, pulling the score to 3-2.

Then in the top of the 5th, the Bombers unloaded a 3-spot to answer back, and hold a 6-2 lead into the 6th. The middle of the Bombers order was the main reason for success with 5 of the 6 runs in the game coming from the 2-6 holes in the lineup. Each of the hitters in those spots had at least one base hit and one run scored.

Brandon Ivey and Seth Oliver both made solid relief appearences out of the bullpen after a strong but brief start by Ross Bludau. Then Dayden Lane hopped in for a great 9th and his second save of the TCL campaign.

Jermayne Ward was named the Nutrabolt Player of the Game with a great game in the field and a 2 RBI single in the game as well.

With the win, the Bombers improve to 24-13 on the season and hold their 2 game lead over the Cane Cutters in the Baylor Scott & White Health TCL Standings.

The Bombers turn around and play the Marshals Wednesday night at Nutrabolt Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and the pre-game show can be found on Willy 1550 and radioaggieland.com starting at 6:45pm.
