The Brazos Valley Bombers announced that today’s scheduled game in Denton against the Outlaws has been postponed due to foul weather. No decision on a makeup date has been announced.
The unusually wet month has wreaked havoc on not only the Bombers inaugural season schedule, but the Texas Collegiate League as a whole. This is the sixth game thus far that has been postponed due to rain, and several other TCL teams have suffered even worse fates. As a result of rescheduling the missed games, the Bombers have surrendered three scheduled off-days in the month of July. Next month, Brazos Valley will now also play three doubleheaders, two of them because of makeups and one, a home twinbill against the Coppell Copperheads on July 14, was on the original schedule. The complete list of schedule changes because of weather postponements includes:
Monday, July 2 at Coppell: Originally a single game on the schedule, now a doubleheader starting at 5:05 pm.
Thursday, July 5 at Mineral Wells: Originally an off-day, now a single game starting at 7:05 pm.
Wednesday, July 18 versus Coppell: Originally an off-day, now a single home game starting at 7:05 pm.
Tuesday, July 31 at Duncanville: Originally an off-day, now a doubleheader starting at 5:50 pm.
With the rainout and tomorrow’s off-day, the Bombers will enjoy a few days off before returning to action at home on Saturday night against the Duncanville Deputies. Saturday is also Bombers Baseball Giveaway Night, where the first 500 fans through the gates will receive a keepsake logo baseball, presented by Infinity Pro Design. Sunday is a Bombers Kids Club Sunday, with kids receiving a D-Bat TCL mini-bat, sponsored by Mix 104.7.
After another two games on the road, the Bombers will be back to celebrate America on July 4 at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark. The Bombers will take on the Wichita Falls Roughnecks in a special mid-week afternoon game beginning at 3 pm.
