Just call KaBoom “Cupid’s Mr. Fix-it.”
The Brazos Valley Bombers loveable mascot will be making special deliveries this Friday for area lovebirds whose Valentine’s Day doesn’t quite go as planned.
With the help of Roger & Roy from KORA-FM 98.3 and Dex on KXCS-FM 103.9, the Bombers will reverse the fortunes of ten people in the Brazos Valley who had a disappointing Valentine’s Day. On Friday afternoon, KaBoom will visit each of the ten winners with a gift of flowers, a Bombers T-shirt, and a gift certificate for two tickets to the team’s first Saturday game of the 2007 season, on June 9.
“Today is a big day for couples, but we know that it doesn’t always go as planned,” said Bombers general manager Mike Lieberman. “So if your Valentine’s Day bombs, the Bombers can help. After all, who can’t be cheered up by KaBoom delivering flowers and a T-shirt?
“And our winners can use the tickets for a date in June, with hopes of much better results.”
To enter the promotion, fans can call in on Thursday to either the Roger and Roy morning show on KORA or the KXCS afternoon show with Dex, and share their stories on the air. Heartbroken fans may also click here and describe for the team how their Valentine’s Day bombed. The team, with the help of the two stations, will choose the ten submissions most deserving of a post-Valentine’s pick-me-up. KaBoom will make the surprise deliveries on Friday.
“Our winners might not have a great Valentine’s Day, but their Friday will be great,” added Lieberman. “When KaBoom visits with flowers and tickets, their friends and co-workers are going to wish their Valentine’s Day bombed too!”
