Bryan-College Station, TX (July 1, 2010) – The Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to announce that five Bombers have been named to the 2010 Texas Collegiate League All-Star Team. The game, which will feature the best players from the first half of the 2010 season, will be played in Victoria, Texas on Monday, July 5 as part of day long All-Star festivities.
The Bombers will be sending two of their best bats to the All-Star game in Greg Olson and Wes Patterson. Olson has been on a tear recently, raising his season batting average to .340 and his on base percentage to .468. He is second on the team in base hits and stolen bases. Patterson leads the Bombers and is tied for second in the league standings in home runs. Wes is also second on the team in RBIs and first in doubles.
In addition to the two hitters, the Bombers will send three pitchers to the game: Ryan Eastman, Matt Passauer, and Levi Saenz. Ryan leads the Bombers in wins with 3 and boasts a solid 3.92 ERA. Passauer has been a stalwart out of the bullpen, posting a 1.74 ERA over 20.2 innings of work, striking out 22. Saenz has been the ace for the Bombers thus far this season, posting a 1.41 ERA over a team leading 32 innings pitched.
