Bryan/College Station, TX (June 23, 2023) – The Bombers shut out Victoria 4-0 tonight dominating on offense and defense. Tonight’s game showed how consistent this Brazos Valley team is at the plate earning several hits resulting in an easy victory. The lineups performance tonight was flawless making it on and around the bases with ease proving why they’re the number one team and will continue to be this season. The Bombers are now on a six game win streak due to how well this team is hitting as well as logging plays on defense like the several double plays around base tonight. The Bombers hope to extend their win streak to seven tomorrow as they take on the River Monsters in Seguin.
The momentum on offense was present the whole game to fend off the Generals once again and this was started off tonight by Simon Larranga with a single in the first inning. This inning showed the Bombers power with a double smashed into left field that almost went out by Ben Columbus and later in the inning Simon Larranga scored the first run on a wild pitch to get the Bombers on the board. In the second inning Hunter Autrey hit a leadoff triple showing off his powerful hitting and adding to this Brazos Valley team’s offensive energy. Following that first run Christian Smith Johnson logged a single allowing Hunter Autrey to score the Bombers second run well earned off of his triple.
Christian Smith Johnson used his speed to steal second following his hit and was able to get the Bombers third run due to Casey Sunseri’s rbi single right after his stealing play. In the third Simon Larranaga continued getting hits with a single and to repeat the first inning this was followed up by another double by Nebraska’s catcher Ben Columbus who played as the Bomber’s DH this evening. In the fourth Cameron Donley logged a single to right field followed by a double by Jordan Medellin and in this position Jordan scored the Bombers final run of the evening. The dominance tonight on offense was supplemented by great pitching from Parker Bigham, Zach Willimans, and Wyatt Wick.
