While celebrating National Pink Day with pink jerseys, which were later auctioned off for a local non-profit, the Bombers defeated the Victoria Generals for the fourth time this week with a score of 7-1.
Things started off hot in the bottom of the first when center fielder Blake Kopetsky led off with a single, then was brought in on a single by left fielder by Brett Kauten for the first run of the game. Later, with Kauten and G.R. Hinsley on base, catcher Alexis Mercado came to the plate and slammed a three-run homerun over the left field wall to bring the Bombers lead to 4-0.
Bombers fans thought they were seeing double in the bottom of the second when right fielder Graham McIntyre also sent a ball over the left field wall for a two-run homerun. After two innings the Bombers led the Generals 6-0. Victoria claimed their only run of the night in the top of the fourth and were unable to gain any more runs. Brazos Valley extended their lead by one in the bottom of the eighth when Hinsley was able to come home on a wild pitch. The Bombers ended their victory with a score of 7-1 over the Generals.
