BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (May 26, 2021) — Months in the making, the Brazos Valley Bombers have solidified their 2021 season roster with four new additions.
Shortstop Bobby Lada is coming to the Bombers with an impressive collegiate record after only his sophomore year. With 66 RBI, 13 home runs and 13 stolen bases, Lada has proven himself to be an offensive powerhouse behind the plate. On the defensive side of the diamond, Lada holds a .926 fielding percentage across 113 game appearances. The First-Team All-Conference player is sure to make his mark on the summer season.
PJ Villarreal will also play shortstop for the Bombers. Coming from Wharton County Junior College, Villarreal recorded 25 assists and 22 putouts with a .922 fielding percentage. The sophomore’s .370 on-base percentage, paired with multiple stolen bases, make Villarreal a scoring threat to any defense trying to keep him from reaching home plate.
Suiting up for the summer, catcher Ryan Snell is joining the Bombers after an extremely successful season with Lamar University. In his collegiate career, Snell has notched 43 hits and 27 RBI while sending five over the outfield wall. After throwing out 12 would-be base stealers this past season, Snell is coming to the Brazos Valley with an unmatched intensity behind home plate.
Hudson Polk marks the final addition to the Bombers 2021 roster. Though only a freshman, the University of Oklahoma catcher has proven himself to be a defensive wall with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and 21 putouts. In high school, Polk was named the No. 204 ball player in the nation by Prep Baseball Report, and the Coppell-native is ready to prove he deserves high rankings such as this.
