Bryan-College Station, Texas (August 8, 2016)- The Bombers scored two runs in the eighth to tie the game and added the game winning run in the 10th as they picked up their 45th win of the year.
The Bombers celebrated Good Karma Monday brought to you by European Wax Center. The fans participated in a “name your price” ticket where they chose the amount for each ticket with 50% of proceeds going to a participating local non-profit. Thank you to those who donated to a few of the Brazos Valley charities.
Ivan Estrella got the scoring going for the Bombers in the bottom of the eighth as his single scored Mark Whitehead to bring Brazos Valley within a run. The run was Estrella’s second RBI of the game. Later in the inning with the bases loaded, Alex Samples would get hit at the plate, scoring Estrella.
Garrett McCain would get on base in the tenth inning with an error from the shortstop. He would advance to 3rd courtesy of a wild pitch and would score after a Logan Bottrell hit that was misplayed by the Marshals third basemen.
Anthony Herrera would pitch the final two innings in relief to pick up his third win of the year. He struck out two and allowed just one hit.
The loss for the Marshals put them a game behind the Woodland Strykers for the final playoff spot.
The Bombers will take two days off before closing out their regular season at home on Thirsty Thursday presented by WB Liquors and the finale on Friday. Thursday will be Guaranteed Win Night & 9 Innings of Winning by Program Insurance Group. Friday will be the annual “Aggie Night” hosted by Cognizant Technology Solutions. August 13th starts the first playoff game hosted at Nutrabolt Stadium with a “Stuff the Bus” theme. Games will start at 7:05pm.
