Bombers Complete Homestand Sweep

Bryan/College Station, TX — June 1, 2018 — The first homestand of the season could not have gone much butter for the Brazos Valley Bombers, as they completed the homestand 4-0 after sweeping the Victoria Generals.  The fans were treated to firewords both during and after the game, thanks to a great fireworks show presented by FedStar Credit Union

The Bombers got on the board first after a homerun from Christian Sepulveda, that jsut remained inside the foul pole and was questioned by the Victoria maanger.  Kyle Bergeron would score the second run of the game racing home on a wild pitch from Victoria starting pitcher Kyle Backhus.  Bennett Inoff then doubled the score with a toweering home run to left field, giving the Bombers a 4-0 lead.  The General swould get a run back in the 6th inning after Michael Slater ripped a triple and scored on a ground out.  The Bombers would add a pair of insurance runs in the 8th inning, one run by Kyle Bergerone who scored after a thowing error from the Generals catcher.  Robin Adames would score the other on a RBI hit from Dylan Bonhert

The Bombers were just as dominant on the mound as they were at the plate.  Starting pitcher Brady Batten pitched 6 strong innings for the Bombers, allowing just one run on 5 hits and not walking a batter but striking out 4.  In relief, Josh Larzabal was just as effective, going the remaining three innings of work, allowing just one hit and striking out five Generals.

The Bombers will now head on the road to take on the Acadiana Cane Cutters over the weekend.  The Bombers will return home for a tow game series June 6th, against the Victoria Generals.
