Bryan/College Station, TX (July 28, 2023) – Tonight’s final score at Edible Field came out to be 8-3 after another sizable lead that was present the entire game. The Bombers win yet another game at home with only one season game remaining in their regular season before playoffs start on August 1st. For the final game of the regular season the Bombers will take on the River Monsters at home on Sunday July 30th to complete the three game homestand. The Bombers took the victory against the Rougarou the past two days giving them a two game winning streak due to explosive hitting on offense and Baton Rouge pitching mishaps that were present both nights resulting in many runs from walks.
The Bombers started off strong coming out of the first inning with a lead for the first time in a while late in this season! Momentum was started on offense by Jacob Guerrero with an RBI single to score Hunter Autrey (walk) for the Bombers first run of this Friday evening’s ball game. Hunter Autrey and Jacob Guerrero also earned a stolen base each in this inning showing off their speed as base runners. In the third, the Rougarous continued to have the same pitching mishaps as last night allowing Casey Sunseri, Justin Harris, Jacob Guerrero, and Kamden Kelton to score from walks making the score 5 to nil as well as a single by Christian Smith Johnson.
In the fourth inning, the Bombers continued to show off their consistent hitting with Jacob Guerrero keeping things going with a RBI single to score Casey Sunseri and later in the half inning division one athlete Maddox Miesse also earned an RBI single of his own to bring the score to 7-0. In the fifth inning Hunter Autrey saw a positive trend in his at bat earning a beautiful RBI double up deep into left center field to score aggie Cameron Donley to extend the Brazos Valley lead. The game was called by umpires after the top of the 8th and the Bombers will walk away with another home victory!
