Bryan-College Station, TX (August 9, 2010) – As the regular season has come to an end the Bombers look back at their most successful season in the team’s four years. The team as a whole has set new marks for wins and attendance and many individual records have been tied and broken as well.
This season the Bombers had their largest crowd ever as 3583 fans were in attendance on Free Ticket Tuesday presented by Twin City Properties, shattering the old record of 1865. It was just one of three times this season the attendance broke the old record. On the season the Bombers had the highest attendance of any Texas Collegiate League team for the fourth straight year and broke the single season attendance record of 30,585 with a new mark of 41,823. The team still has a chance to break the record for fans at a playoff game as well with the current mark at 1279.
The team also had its best season on record, notching 32 victories on the 2010 season. A large part of that success is the work of Bombers starter Brian Borski who set a new Bombers and Texas Collegiate League record of eight wins in a season.
From the mound the Bombers broke two more team records as Matt Passauer made 22 appearances on the game and Levi Saenz threw 62.1 innings, breaking the previous records of 20 appearances and 54 innings of work.
At the plate Isaac Nuti broke the TCL and Bombers record for at-bats in a season with 206, as well as setting new Bombers records for total hits with 58 and total bases with 68. Wes Patterson broke the team record for doubles with 13 and RBI with 28 and also tied the home run record with 4 long balls. Finally, Morgan Mickan set new marks with 35 walks and 19 stolen bases on the year.
