The Bombers got off to a hot start as Isaac Nuti scored on a Jacob House double before House was plated by a Wes Patterson single to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. The Pump Jacks responded with two in the fourth and fifth and one in the sixth to open up a 5-2 lead.
In the seventh the Bombers’ Cameron Dullnig reached on a strikeout to lead off the inning. Consecutive singles by John Cannon and Morgan Mickan loaded the bases for Nuti, who grounded into an RBI fielder’s choice. Casey Dykes then reached on an RBI bunt single and then Patterson walked to load the bases. Greg Olson fought off four foul balls to draw a walk to tie the game at 5-5 before Brennyn Smith reached on an RBI single to put the Bombers ahead 6-5.
In the ninth the Pump Jacks got a man on first, sacrifice bunted him to second, and he advanced to third on a groundout. With two outs and that runner on third the batter hit a ground ball to the third baseman, but his throw pulled the first baseman off the bag, allowing the run to score, sending the game into extras.
The Bombers were unable to score in the tenth and eleventh, but an RBI single with one out and runners on the corners ended the game with the Pump Jacks earning the 7-6 walk off victory. The win tied the series at 1-1 making Thursday’s game the series deciciding match-up.
