Bombers Announce 2011 Coaching Staff

The Brazos Valley Bombers announced today that fans can expect their coaching staff for the 2011 season to remain the same as the Bombers look to continue heading in the right direction, after the best season in Bombers history with a record of 32-20 in 2010. Head coach Brent Alumbaugh and assistant coach Ben Gallego provide the club with tremendous stability as they return for their second season together with the organization.

Alumbaugh has been head coach for the past three seasons, leading the Bombers to the playoffs each year while posting the best regular season record in franchise history last year. He is currently in his third season as an assistant coach at Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, Texas. He has also been an associate scout for the New York Yankees since January of 2009.

Alumbaugh came to Oak Ridge by way of Franklin, Tennessee, where he served as the head coach at Franklin High School from 2003 through 2008. During his time at Franklin, the Auburndale, Florida native posted an overall record of 145-65 (.691) and went 83-33 (.716) in district play. The Rebels claimed District Championships in 2006 and 2008, Regional Championships in 2007 and 2008, and Sectional Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007. They also made State Tournament appearances in three consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2007, including the school’s first trip in the school’s 95-year history.
