Bombers are Ready for an Exciting July in the Brazos Valley!

The Brazos Valley Bombers closed out their home stand tonight against the Victoria Generals. Both of the teams played hard, but a late rally was not enough as the Bombers fell 3-2. The Bombers will now head to Alexandria for two games to close out June.

As for the offense, hits were hard to come by tonight. On the evening, the Bombers only managed four hits. Their lone runs came in the fourth inning on a homerun by first baseman James Wharton. Left fielder Brandon Wood hit a single and was the man on first for the Bombers. Wharton then followed with his two run homer. One the evening Wood was 2-3 at the plate with a run scored.

The story line of the game was the pitching by both clubs. The Bombers fought for as long as they could, but in the end came up on the losing side. College Station native, Brannon Easterling started on the mound for the Bombers. He pitched seven innings while giving up four hits and striking out seven Generals. Nathan Sorenson and Nick Johnson came in to pitch the final two innings with Sorenson recording a strikeout. The defense had some minor struggles but managed to keep the game close.
