Bombers Sweep the Generals

The Brazos Valley Bombers started the game off early by creating 3 runs a piece in the 1st and 2nd inning.   Horacio Correa III and Brett Kauten singled to get on base and each scored on fielding errors by the Generals.  Blake Kopetsky closed up the 1st by scoring the first homerun of the game.  The Bombers furthered their lead by starting the second inning off with a single by Matt Eureste who pushed into scoring position by a stolen base and a single by Horacio Correa III.  Matt Eureste would score off a sac fly by Patrick McLendon.  G.R. Hinsley drove a ball into center but an error by the center fielder allowed both Horacio Correa III and Brett Kauten to score.

The Generals got onto the board in the bottom of the 2nd and 3rd with two runs.  The Bombers answered in the top of the 4th with a run by Horacio Correa III, which started off of a walk, a single by Patrick McLendon and an RBI by Brett Kauten.  McLendon and Kauten would be left stranded on base.  The Generals used the loss of momentum by The Bombers to their advantage and would rally with 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to put the game 7-6 in favor of The Bombers.  The two teams would trade runs in the 5th with Patrick McLendon doubling and advancing Horacio Correa III to 3rd and sending Miles Manning home.  A fly out would leave men stranded on base but the game still held in favor of The Bombers.

The game hit a lull through the 6th and 7th, but The Bombers created a deep deficit for The Generals to climb out of in the 8th by scoring 5 runs.  Patrick McLendon scored the first run off of a sacrifice fly by G.R. Hinsley and Brett Kauten moved into scoring position.  A single by Blake Kopetsky sends Kauten home to score another run for The Bombers.  Blake Kopetsky moves himself into scoring position off of a stolen base and advancing to 3rd off of a single by Hunter Hagler.  A double by Matt Eureste sends both Kopetsky and Hagler home to send the run total for the 8th up to 4 runs.  A wild pitch by Kris Looper of The Generals places Matt Eureste in scoring position who is sent home by Horacio Correa III off of a single.  A put out leaves men stranded on base but the scoreline stands at 13-7 in favor of The Bombers.  The Generals would rally in the bottom of the 9th but quickly fizzled out with only one run scored.  The away game ended in a 13-8 victory for The Brazos Valley Bombers.
