Power Outage Suspends Bombers Rally

Bryan-College Station (June 18, 2016) – The Brazos Valley Bombers had just tied the game 2-2 against the Victoria Generals and were set to take the lead, when all the sudden the power went out. Despite the best efforts of BTU to restore power, the game was suspended after an hour delay.

Willy Amador got the start for the Bombers and delivered 10 strikeouts in 5 innings while allowing just one hit and zero earned runs in his season debut. The Bryan native struck out the side in the top of the 4th on his way to retiring the first 12 batters.

Anthony Herrera put the Bombers on the board first with a double that scored Hunter Wilson. After the Generals plated two in the top of the fifth, Brazos Valley went back to work as Baine Schoevogel got on base thanks to a two base error from Victoria. After two singles from Riley Schaefer and Logan Bottrell, Jason Grimsley brought home Schoevogel to tie the score.

Walk-Off Sunday by Ashley Homestore College Station will feature 14 innings of baseball. The conclusion of game 1 will begin at 5pm with the Bombers at bat in the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded and one out. Game two will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one as the Bombers celebrate Fathers Super Day presented by C&C Lawn and Irrigation with an Apple Watch field rush.
