Bombers Edge Generals 4-3

Bryan/College Station, Texas (June 29, 2017)-All season the Bombers and Generals have battled in tight, high-pressure, games and Thursday night was no different as the Bombers held on to a 4-3 win at Nutrabolt Stadium.

The scoring started early for the Bombers as they took advantage of a 2-out, 2-strike, bases-loaded double off the right field wall off the bat of Chris Andritsos that missed being a grand-slam by a matter of inches.

In the 3rd inning Jared Mang got ahold of one and sent it down the left-field line and over the 15-foot high wall to give the Bombers a 4-0 lead into the 4th.

Then the Generals began to strike back. They scored a pair of runs but left the bases juiced in the 4th inning when starter Chase Maddux got out of a potential game-changing jam.

The Generals then followed with a solo-shot in the 5th to bring it within one run. That’s when the Bombers’ bullpen took over.

CJ Varela made the first appearance out of the pen with 2 innings of work, then gave way to Reid Morgan in the 9th who only needed 6 pitches to set down Victoria in order to secure the one run win.

Friday afternoon the Bombers take on Victoria one more time in the TCL first-half with a 5-game lead over the Generals in the Baylor Scott & White TCL Standings.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and the pre-game show can be found on Willy 1550 and radioaggieland.com starting at 6:45pm.
