Bombers Take Bite of Rougarou on Shark Night

Cam Haller reaches base 4 times going 2-3 with 3 runs scored and an RBI

Bryan/College Station– July 19, 2019 – The Bombers offense found its rhythm on Shark Night putting up crooked numbers in three separate innings. The game started off as a back and forth slugfest with teams trading runs in the first few innings before the Bombers took control in the fifth inning. The bullpen for the Bombers came in and steadied the ship putting up four consecutive zeros before surrendering a single run in the ninth to finish the game with a  12-7 victory.

As mentioned the action got started early in the contest as the teams put up a combined 14 runs in the first five innings of play. The Bombers got the better share of that production leading 8-6 going into the sixth inning. The Rougarou would then give up a four spot to the Bombers as the Bombers would take control of the game the rest of the way.

Multiple hitters had productive days at the plate with Cam Haller leading the way going 2-3 with 3 runs scored and an RBI as the designated hitter. Kyle Bergeron followed him up going 2-3 with a solo shot to left and Bryant Shellenbarger went 2-5 with two RBI’s.

The bullpen combination of Christian Vega, Hunter Dobbins, and Cameron Wynn combined for six strikeouts over the course of five innings surrendering just one run. Vega was credited with the win with his final line being 2 innings pitched giving up one hit and striking out two.
