Bryan/College Station, TX (July 11, 2023) – The Bombers played a great game on both offense and defense to secure a win at home. The final score tonight was 5-1 with the Bombers earning 5 hits and several good plays on defense to easily fly into a victory tonight. There were new hitters and pitching on the Bombers team and they showed off how valuable they look to be the remainder of the season to hopefully bring home another TCL championship win for this team. With great performances by these players and Bombers veterans they are on track to win again tomorrow at home as they take on the Victoria Generals.
The Bombers looked hot tonight with electric momentum all evening on both offense and defense. In the first inning newcomer Mason Peters was subbed in and got the defense out of a 1 out bases loaded jam to save the Bombers that inning. Later in the inning Cole Modgling earned a sac bunt to get Casey Sunseri to 2nd base keeping the offensive energy going for this team. He continued to make plays for this team in order to keep play going proving why he’s one of the most valued players on the Bombers.
In the third inning Mason Peters continued to dominate as he struck out the side allowing no hits in the inning and most of his time on the mound. Cameron Donley earned a beautiful base hit to the gap in left field that was almost a double and with this advanced Cole Plowman to third. In the same inning Casey Susneri proved his athleticism with a base hit through the 6 hole to score Cole Plowman for the first run of the night with no outs on the board. This inning was phenomenal with three more runs by Cameron Donley, Casey Sunseri, and Cole Modgling.
In the fifth the Bombers defense showed off their electric momentum with a ground ball double play to close the inning as well as performing well securing outs all night to supplement the good pitching. Later in the game Ben Columbus kept the bombers on the bases with two base hits in the 5th and 8th innings. The pitching really aided in tonight’s win by good performances by the newcomers Mason Peters and aggie Brandon Arbidson who showed this evening and gave up no hits.
