Bombers Announce Aggies, local stars join the 2010 Roster

Bryan-College Station, TX (May 26, 2010) – The Brazos Valley Bombers strengthened their ties with Texas A&M today announcing that the team has signed two Aggies for the 2010 season. Juniors, Nick Fleece and Brett Parsons will call the Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark home again this summer. The players will help to form a firm foundation as the team prepares to push for its first Texas Collegiate League Title in its fourth season.

This will be the second year with the Bombers for Fleece, who had a spotless ERA in seven innings pitched and hit .250 with a .333 on base percentage last year.

Returning Bombers first baseman, Parsons, hit .277 last summer over 130 at-bats, the third highest total for the Bombers.

Four local players will join the Bombers for the 2010 season: returning Bomber Geoff Lomax of Hendrix College, Brannon Easterling of Temple College, and Miller Aldrich of Lamar University, who all attended A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, and Ryan Eastman of the University of Houston who prepped at The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas and was names All-State Honorable Mention at second base by Texas Sports Writer.

Lomax is back for his second season with the Bombers. Last year Geoff posted a 0.93 ERA in 19.1 innings pitched for the team.

The Bombers have also signed three players from the University of Oklahoma. The Sooners’ Max White, Drew Harrison, and Derek Vaughn will join the Bombers for the 2010 season. The trio will add depth and a great deal of talent to the roster this summer.

White has been active in his first college season, playing in 50 of Oklahoma’s 56 games. The freshman is hitting .321 with 14 home runs, 11 doubles and 39 RBI this year.

Excitement continues to build for the season as the Bombers have sold out for the forth consecutive year the Founder’s club. The team also sold out the Reserve Plus section of Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark for the season.

Single game tickets for the remaining grandstand seating will go on sale Friday, May 28th at noon with the home opener on June 2nd. The home opener includes the Bombers annual magnetic schedule giveaway to the first 400 fans, a balloon drop, and much more as we countdown to the first pitch for the New Year of Bomber Baseball.

Season tickets are still available and start at $105 online at www.bvbombers.com, by phone at 979-779-PLAY, or at the Bombers offices at 405 Mitchell Street in Bryan.
