Bombers Pummel the Woodlands Strykers to Take the Series Spilt

After a heartbreaking comeback attempt failed for the Bombers in the first game of the series, they were able to bounce back the next night with force.

The Bombers took the lead fast for the first time in the final game of the home stand as they were able to collect one run in the bottom of the 2nd off a couple of errors given up by the Strykers.  The Strykers tied the game in the 4th inning, but quickly fell behind again in the bottom half of the 4th thanks to three bases loaded walks and a G.R. Hinsley grand slam, which was the only hit of the inning for the Bombers.  Four more runs were tacked on by the Bombers in the 5th inning from a RBI double by Hunter Hagler, RBI double by Ford Moore, RBI sacrifice fly by Mason Randolph, and a RBI bases loaded walk by Blake Kopetsky.

The Bombers weren’t finished with the Strykers yet though, as two more runs were added in the bottom of the 8th inning on a sacrifice fly by Horacio Correa III and a RBI single by G.R. Hinsley to make that his 5th of the game.  Bryce Rutherford pitched a gem with only one run given up on 6 hits and striking out seven in 6 innings work.  Jason Gareri, Caleb Hawkins, and Andrew Hohn each pitched one inning to close the game out for the Bombers as they took the victory 14-2.

The Bombers face the East Texas Pumpjacks on Saturday at American Momentum Bank ballpark at 7:05pm, July 27.
