Bombers announce 2014 schedule featuring return of the TCL All-Star Game

Bombers announce the 2014 schedule featuring the return of the TCL All-Star Game

Bryan-College Station, TX (April 9, 2014) – Returning with high expectations, the 2014 season will be the Bombers’ eighth outing in the TCL as the squad looks to surpass its championship winning run in 2013. Coach Curt Dixon and the Bombers will kick off the regular season on Thursday, May 28th on the road with a two-game set in Lafayette, La. against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The road trip will continue with a pair of games against the Woodlands Strykers.

The Bombers Home Opener will be on June 3rd against the Cane Cutters who finished with the second best record in the TCL last season. The Bombers will continue their home stand against the Victoria Generals, whom the Bombers beat to win their first TCL Championship in 2013.

Likely to be one of the season’s most exciting day, the Bombers host the Texas Collegiate League All-Star Game on July 8. This year’s all-stars will descend on the Brazos Valley as the Bombers host the league’s annual showcase of top players from the Texas Collegiate League.

The TCL Playoff will begin August 9th as the Bombers work to extend their league record streak of making the playoffs these past 7 seasons. The campaign is again divided into two halves, with the top two teams in each half qualifying for the playoffs. If one team earns a playoff berth in both halves then a wild card team will qualify for the postseason.

The Bombers 2014 schedule is presented by Cellucor, Brazos Bingo, Sterling Auto Group, Program Insurance Group, St Joseph Hospital, Burger King, Rattlers Convenience Stores, Ashley Furniture Home Store, George Bush Presidential Library & Museum, and TEEX. The Bombers will host a total of thirty regular season home games during the summer against the other TCL members. The Acadiana Cane Cutters, East Texas Pump Jacks, Texas Marshals, Victoria Generals, and Woodlands Strykers will all make trips to the Brazos Valley.

In total, the 30-game home schedule includes six Friday nights, six Thirsty Thursdays and five Saturdays providing from some great opportunities for affordable family fun for everyone.
