Bombers Selected in the MLB Draft
 
There has been a lot of buzz around the Brazos Valley as the Bombers have started their 2012 campaign. For some current and former Bombers, this week has been especially special with them being selected in this years MLB Draft. Current Bomber players Logan Taylor and Rafeal Pineda along with former Bombers Jacob House, Travis Ballew, Alec Millsand John Cannon heard their names announced this week. 
 
 Taylor from Jenks, Oklahoma is a pitcher for the Bombers staff this year. Taylor who pitched at Eastern Oklahoma State College was picked by the New York Mets with the 350th pick. Taylor will head to the Mets after posting a 5-2 record with a 1.84 ERA in 83 innings pitched this past season for EOSC. Pineda, from Fort Worth was selected by the Cinncinatti Reds with the 1222 pick. Pineda posted a fantastic season on the mound for the Texas A&M Aggies. Pineda posted a 2.71 ERA in 15 starts on the mound while posting a 5-1 record. 
 
House was selected with the 633rd pick by last seasons National League West Champions, Arizona Diamondbacks. House was a fan favorite during his time in a Bombers uniform, and familiar with fans as he suited up for the Fighting Aggies. This past spring, House had the second highest batting average of Aggie hitters batting .308 with 8 homeruns with 56 RBIs along with 14 doubles in 58 starts. The Houston Astros selected Ballew with the 699th pick. Bellew had a solid season for the Texas State Bobcats. He posted a 11-4 record with a 2.73 ERA in 15 starts while logging just over 102 innings pitched. Mills was drafted out of the University of Tennessee at Martin by the Kansas City Royals with the 673 pick. This season for the Skyhawks, Mills threw 89 innings in 14 starts posting a 3.94 ERA with a 4-6 record. Cannon was drafted into the Los Angeles Dodgers organization with the 896 pick. Cannon, a Hutto, Texas native, batted .302 with 54 hits and 19 RBIs. He made 51 starts behind the mound for the Houston Cougars. 
 
The Bombers are happy for these players as they made their pursuit to the Major Leagues. The Bombers are greatful for the contributions they have or are making for our organization and community.
