Bombers Add Pair of Longhorns

Bryan/College Station, Texas – May 7, 2018 – The Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to announce the addition of University of Texas players, DJ Petrinsky and Bennett Inoff, to the 2018 Brazos Valley Bombers roster.

DJ Petrinsky is a Junior Catcher for the Texas Longhorns, who has started most of the games for Texas this season after playing two years for Hill College. Petrinsky has stepped right in and taken ahold of the starting job for the Longhorns and has experienced great success in 2018. For the Longhorns, he has hit six home runs with 20 RBIs, while scoring 28 runs. Petrinsky has also been strong defensively, only committing 4 errors this season, and throwing out almost half of the runners who have attempted to steal on him. While at Hill College, Petrinsky was dynamic, hitting 12 home runs as a sophomore with 58 RBIs. Petrinsky will be reunited with his High School head coach from his time at Magnolia West, Bombers Assistant Coach James Dillard. Coach Dillard is very excited to coach his former player again, “DJ is an extension of the coaching staff behind the plate, calls a great game, and knows each pitcher’s strengths and weaknesses, that along with a great arm behind the plate has led him to become one of the premier catchers in the state of Texas. Offensively, DJ has gap to gap power with the potential to hit double digit home runs.”

Bennett Inoff is a Freshman Pitcher/Corner Infielder for the Texas Longhorns, who has not appeared this season. Inoff comes to the Bombers, where he will both pitch and play in the field this season. During his high school career at Episcopal High School, Inoff hit .361/.547/.639 with 2 home runs at the play his junior season, combined with going 4-0 with a .33 ERA in 21 innings on the mound. Bombers Head Coach Brian Nelson is excited for the versatility that Bennett brings to the Bombers. “Bennett is a big, strong, and versatile athlete. He has the ability to make an impact for us on the mound and in the line-up.”
