West Edge East in 2017 All-Star Game

Thomas Jeffries had a huge day with 3-RBIs for the Western team

Bryan/College Station,Texas (July,6,2017) - Nutrabolt stadium played host for the 2017 TCL All Star Game, and Home Run derby. Marshall Skinner of the Victoria Generals won the homerun derby to kick things off on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.

The starting pitchers, Mike Mokma, and Max Page both retired the side in order for a very quick 1st inning. In the second inning, Hunter Hearn drove in Donaldo Perez to give the East All Stars a 1-0 lead.

Thomas Jeffries would respond in the bottom half of the inning with a two RBI double to give the West All Stars a 2-1 lead. The East would tie the game thanks to a Jaylon Keys RBI single in the 5th. The east would add to their lead in the 6th when Handsome Monica unloaded a bomb in left field off of teammate Justin Demary.

The East All Stars would have a 5-2 lead in the 7th but the West would score 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to tie things up when Jared Mang drove in the tying run off of a single into right field. The game would go into the 10th inning tied at 5 when the West All Stars put their first 2 runners on board and Josh Aguilar would drive in the game winning run. Since it was the all star game, the rest of the inning was played and the West would strike for one more run giving the West a 7-5 win over the East.

A few standouts on the offensive side were Thomas Jeffries who had 3 RBI for the West after a 2 RBI double and RBI single throughout the night. One of the bigger moments was the Handsome Monica Home Run in the 6th inning.
