Bombers Keep Up the Winning ways with a Pounding of the Cane Cutters

Bombers Keep Up the Winning ways with a Pounding of the Cane Cutters.
The Bombers offense kept rolling tonight at American Momentum Bank Ballpark, the home crowd was celebrating not only because of the 10-4 victory but also the Thirsty Thursday promotion which featured $1 beer and soft drinks throughout the game thanks to Western Beverages.
The Bombers offense has been ona hot streak in the last few games. The Bombers recorded their first run of the evening when firstbaseman Brad Porras hit a groundout which allowed centerfielder Chris Florack to score.
The Bombers would score three more times before the floodgates opened in the bottom of the seventh inning when the offense exploded for 6 runs. The parade started when Porras was hit by a pitch. The bases became full after Brandon Wood, making his season debut traveled 90 feet to 1st after being drilled by a pitch. The scoring started when Braden Mattson banged a single to the outfield that platted Porras. After a bases loaded walk to Jordan Hammerman, that scored Brennyn Smith, the gloves came off when Adam Pena came in to smack a double that allowed Wood, Mattson, and Hammerman to score. The other run came when Adam Pena scored on an error which allowed second baseman Shea Pierce to move to 1st on an error by the Cane Cutter first baseman.
The Bombers pitching staff was pretty superb as well. Bomber starter Blake Bagley started the game and gave up two earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched. Luis Dejesus came in to pitch two solid innings only giving up
one Cane Cutter hit while striking out three Cane Cutters through his time on the mound. Right hander came to the mound following Dejesus's stint to have a flawless one inning of relief. The next inning left hander Franco Pace got the ball and fanned two Cane Cutters in his inning of work. Bryan native, Samuel Charleston, closed the game out quickly in the ninth giving the Bombers their fifth win in a row.
The Bombers swept the Cane Cutters and still have two remaining games on this homestand before heading on the road. The East Texas Pumpjacks come to American Momentum Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 game  tomorrow night featuring Family Fridays, brought to you by George Bush Presidential Library which will include a postgame fireworks show brought to you by Fedstar Credit Union. The homestand will conclude with a 7:05 game against the Victoria Generals this Saturday which will be a Kids Free Saturday sponsored by Chicken Express.
